About Us

A land of ancient traditions and refined beauty, WWOOFing in Nepal offers a myriad of unique cultural treasures and experiences, and a gracious heartfelt hospitality like none other. As a sister organization of the international WWOOF network WWOOF Nepal has been coordinating a volunteer program in the field of sustainable agriculture in Nepal. WWOOF Nepal is a part of a worldwide effort to link volunteers with progressive farmers, promote an educational exchange and build a global community conscious of ecological farming practice. If you are coming for WWOOFing to Nepal, we would like to welcome you from WWOOF Nepal. Usually, you live with your host and are expected to join in and cooperate with the day to day activities. In Nepal, the exchange is based on 4-6 hours help-fair exchange for a full day’s food and accommodation. You may be asked to help with a variety of tasks like sowing seed, making compost, gardening, planting, cutting wood, weeding, harvesting, packing, milking, feeding, fencing etc. The length of your stay at the farm is negotiated directly between you and your host.
Most WWOOFERS visits are between one and two weeks, though some may be as short as two or three days or as long as six months. As a member, you will be able to access a database of farms and start making plans. If you are interested in alternative ways of living and want to meet interesting people then WWOOFing is for you!
If you are a host, if you have a farm, smallholding, garden, organic or sustainability principles, you might consider opening your home to WWOOFers. Our volunteers can provide an extra pair of hands to help with various projects you are busy with. WWOOF is an exchange – In return for volunteer help, WWOOF hosts offer food, accommodation and opportunities to learn about organic lifestyles. Let us make a difference by joining WWOOF Nepal! Get involved! Join WWOOF! Think local – act global!” As a WWOOFERS or as a host we would to like to welcome you to join us as a global family member.
